The process of cleaning mold, dirt, organic debris (such as leaves and pine needles), and mildew from roofs involves several steps tailored to the specific situation. We begin with an assessment to determine the extent of debris, type of roof (Tesla Solar Roof vs. composite shingles, etc.), and the roof’s condition. Our process ensures that mold and mildew are eradicated, dirt is lifted away, and organic debris is thoroughly removed, leaving your roof pristine and safe.
There are a few different approaches to roof cleaning:
- Blower – remove debris using an EGO Power+ Blower. Service can be combined with other approaches.
- Soft Washing – remove debris with a low-pressure power washing technique using a water-fed brush combined with cleaning solutions, if applicable. Alternatively, soft washing can be applied manually using a bristle brush. For Tesla solar panel roofs we can use a water-fed brush and/or a soft brush on a telescoping extension pole to clean hard to reach areas. For Tesla roofs, we do not use any cleaning solutions or detergents.
- Soft-Pressure Washing – uses water that is not heated to remove dirt, debris, mold, mildew, and algae, and restore a roof’s appearance. It can be a critical step before applying a protective sealant to a roof. Note: This approach is only applicable for certain types of surfaces, as the high pressure can damage some roofing materials, such as asphalt shingles, tile shingles, and cedar shake shingles.
